About Newsroom Brief

Newsroom Brief is an independent information blog focused on vision, eyeglasses, optical lenses, eye-related lifestyle information, and practical visual care.

The website is operated by Sangwon Oh, a licensed optician in South Korea with more than 15 years of professional experience in the optical industry.

He also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Optometry at Masan University, combining extensive field experience with academic education.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help readers better understand their vision and make safer, more informed, and more reasonable decisions about eyeglasses, lenses, and everyday visual needs.

Over the course of his professional career, Sangwon Oh has worked directly with a wide range of customers and provided consultations related to:

Vision testing and visual needs assessment
Eyeglass lenses
Progressive lenses
Presbyopia correction
Driving eyewear
Near-work and computer-use eyewear
Eyeglass fitting
Optical product selection
Visual lifestyle management

Newsroom Brief was created to transform this practical experience into information that consumers can easily understand and use.

Professional and Educational Background

In addition to working directly with consumers, Sangwon Oh teaches future opticians and industry professionals as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Optometry at Masan University.

His professional and educational interests include optometry, ophthalmic lenses, visual lifestyle management, customer consultation, and practical optical shop operations.

Our Goal

Our goal is not simply to introduce products.

We aim to explain why different visual solutions may be appropriate for different people, what consumers should consider before choosing eyewear, and when professional evaluation may be necessary.

Newsroom Brief is built on two foundations:

Real-world optical practice and professional education.

We are committed to providing practical, reliable, and understandable information for better everyday visual life.
